We're in Southeast NC and probably about as far
north as the gators go.
There are some in the Cape Fear River, about a
half mile to our west, the ocean and inland
waterways are just a short distance to our east.
And you'll find some in the water-retention ponds
in sub-divisions. When these critters get too
large the animal control people usually capture
them and move them to a less populated area like
the Green Swamp.
So, they are controlled here in populated areas,
our sub-division had about 20 ponds and maybe a
dozen gators...sounds like yours pretty well have
the run of the swamp,
